avoiding lucas from now on

my starting probs seem to be over with. i changes the oil, added no lucas and now starts and runs great. 30* cold start this morning reminded me of a summer day start. glad it was so simple.

lucas does some major viscosity changes. I would see it haveing issues if it was cold.

i lied....i used lucas last night. i was helping my buddy (the one who powerbraked my truck) put those rubber leveling blocks between the coil springs on his dodge 1500. it was a tight fit, so thus i used the last of my lucas to oil those blocks to slide them in between the coils. one good use for lucas.....

I have been using Lucus fuel treatment. I dont belive what I found in this test. It dose more harm than good. Check this out before you use any fule additive.

I am actually going to build a machine like that now to test oils.

Any donations?

DId anyone notice in the PDF file that the Diesel they tested didn't even meet the standards for lubricity. or whatever you would call it...?

That's so you have a good control. i.e. very useful in statistical analysis.

Obviously, using standard fuel with some sort of additive in it, would improve all readings more or less, but the values would less meaningful, because you don't know how much your next fillup would vary from the previous fillup in regards to base additive. This way, you get a clear picture which is better, without anything else being added.
