Ive got a 07 CrewCab 6.5ft box
Parked her level the other day.
Measured the back from pavement to just under the wheelwell and it measured 39 1/4
Measured the front from pavement to just under the wheelwell and it measured 36 3/4
So whata think 2inch or 2.5inch A.S. spacer. Will tow occassionally, I know these trucks all sit alittle different depending on what style you go with.
Want to start getting my plan together for some after market wheels and tires so i can put them on come spring.
well, the 2.5 will sit just about perfect.... but if you tow more often than not, most will go with the 2". i chose the 2.5, and also some airbags for total control in the rear. in fact, if you decide to go with the 2.5, pm me and ill tell you about mine that is for sale.
Matt, dont tow all that often, mostly a tandem axle landscape trailer, with a zero turn mower and weedwacker to go mow some yards twice a week.
Hardly anything else, doesnt mean though that something else wont come up down the road.
Hows come you opted for the airbags vs the add a leaf?
And why may I ask are you selling the spacers?
Given the fact that your front is exactly 2.5" lower than the rear. I'd probably go with the 2" AS.I'd rather have a slight bit of rake than have the rear end sagging.Although you could always get an add a leaf if the rear does sag.
Ive thought about that also, but then wouldnt I have the stock rake look all over again? Thus defeating the purpose.
Will my tire size have a determination on the size of spacer and/or add a leaf?
The reason I suggested the 2" was to avoid possibly needing the add a leaf and possibly having too much rake all over again.
The tire width is more of a problem than the height. There is a guy on f150online that recently put 35x12.5x20 on stock 20s with a 2" AS.He gets minimal rub at full lock with no trimming. He only has about 1/8"-1/4" between the tire and top of the control arm. He's happy with hardley any rub but a 12" wide tire or narrower would probably be better.
If you have stock 18" wheels they are narrower and don't have as much offset as 20's so your tire choices would be a little different as well.
Hey SDTruckMan check your P.M.s
I have 2WD SCREW and 2" AS installed. Truck is about level (no rake). I don't tow much or carry heavy loads. I've very satisified with mine.
While I did not measure 'before' and 'after' I do recall seeing some other forum posts that mentioned that the AS spacers actually level the truck more than 2" (or 2.5 if you are opting for these).
Prior to me buying them, I did call the AS mfg directly (outfit in Idaho). The person who picked up my call was very knowledgable about what affect the various AS sizes had on different trucks - mainly 2wd vs 4wd.

i opted for the airbags so that i always have control over the rear height. whether im hauling nothing, 100 lbs, 1000 lbs or whatever will fit in the bed, i can make it sit just where i want to. of course, i have a compressor installed also so it is even easier.
if you go with an add-a-leaf, then you will get a stiffer ride, and the only control over the height is how much weight your carrying.
i am only selling it since i have recently installed a lift kit, so my spacers are just sitting on my workbench for the time being.
Mine is an 06 screw with same bed 6.5'. I went with the 2.5" based on wanting the perfectly level stance. I tow rarely and I am now researching tire size change for my OEM 18" wheels. See pics in gallery. I figure if i ever need to tow a lot I will go to the add-a-leaf and still end up with very little rake so the 2.5" was hedging for future possibilities.
Another vote for the 2" kit for me. I have the same truck as you and I put a 2.5" on mine and I wish I went with the 2 instead. It doesn't look bad by any means, but if I would do it over again I'd go with the 2"....esp. if you tow!
I also have same setup and have the 2". Love the look. I do tow often but my buddy has the 2.5 and even if he puts a small trailer behind the truck it pulls the back down. I have pics in my gallery.
