Leveling Kit

I'm looking to install a leveling kit on my 05 F150 Lariat Supercrew 4door 5.4L. I've done a ton of research and talked to many friends. Everyone has seemed to go with a 2" inch lift on the front. I learned of a method to insure you get the proper amount of lift tonight… I measured from the bottom of my tire, (ground), to the bottom, (closest to the top of the tire), of my fender flare. In the rear i measured exactly 38 inches. Where as in the front I measured exactly 35 inches. For the record I have 265/70/18 on my truck now. According to my measurements, am i thinking correctly that i would need a 3inch lift on the front to level my truck?

Any suggestions? Has anyone installed a 3" lift to level theirs? What manufacture of leveling kit did you use?

I went with 2 1/2 on my 07xlt and it looks a little bit nose high

Ive got a 3 inch and mine site perfectly leveled. Your right there with the tires, usually you have to run taller tires so theres not abnormal wear on the outside of the tires but with that size youll prbly be fine, if I was you id do a 2.5. I wish I would have taken measurements because if I remember right a 3 inch doesnt raise it exactly 3 inches. Just sold my old 2.5 for 20 bucks haha, or eles id hook ya up

2" level on my FX4 and it sits dead level. Each truck is a little different. I just didn't want the headlights pointing at airplanes with anything larger.

Just gotta aim them, even slightly leveled

Sounds like 2inch leveling kit is the way to go.? Suppose it didn't level my truck completely, i don't think an inch would be that noticeable. What do you all think? What name brands do you all use? I found some steel and or carbon steel ones on ebay for like $30.. Kinda scared of them. Would these be good ones? Or should i simply just get the Auto Spring ones Ive been looking at?

2" auto spring is what I have. Spend a little extra. I don't think a 1" difference will be noticeable.

I also decided on the 2" due to the horror stories I read about anything larger such as putting added stress on the rest of the components.

By putting a 2" leveling kit on my truck will my tires start to wear faster than what is normal, or will there be any negative effects to my truck? Just curious because another member stated above something about wear on the outside edge of the tires. Don't want to cause a problem only to have something look cool

It depends on the size tires you have and if you get an alignment afterwards

The AS are steel I believe and do get an alignment afterwards. I've seen no difference in tire wear but the directions do say that the toe in only needs to be adjusted.

Your right about that. I put a 2.5 on my first truck and never got an alignment, the outside of my tires looked like race slicks haha. But that was also a much shorter tire. I think rough country recommends around a 33

Haha! That I definitely don't want to happen to me. I will most certainly get an alignment afterwords. I'm thinking about going to a 275/65/18 or a 285/60-65/18. Not 100% yet
