Radio Volume Problems 04 Explorer
I have an in dash 6 CD changer in an 04 Explorer. Lately when I turn the volume down using the ****, it actually gets louder until switch to the steering wheel controls or hit the mute button. I thought my fingers were going spastic until my daughter-in-law had the same problem. The volume control on the steering wheel works okay, and the volume **** only malfunctions periodically.
Any one else have this problem?

Our '04 has the same disease as Stevenbhenry above. On occassion, the volume goes up when you turn it down (from both the volume **** and sterring wheel control). The dealer swapped out the head unit a year ago on this very problem and it appeared to solve the problem. Now we are out of warranty.

Our '04 EB has the same problem. I didn't believe the wife until it happened to me. We both only use the radio controls (i guess we forget about the steering wheel controls) so I'm not sure if it happens on both. Ditto on that list!
