I am new here and not sure where I really should put this. I have a 91 reg cab long bed ford ranger that has a 302 with auto tranny in it and was trying to sell or trade it but now I have found a 92 ford with a 302 that is bad. The ranger 302 is and 80's(think he said 85) and was wondering if I could put it in the 92 ford????

While it will probably bolt up, you will probably have problems interfacing with the computer and/or passing inspection. Is the engine fuel injected in the ranger? If so that great increases your chances of it working.
The older one is carbed, wht i was wondering is if i pulled the intake off and put the newer intake and fuel inj system on the older block,,,I know chevy u have to change heads as well but i was not sure if ford changed heads on newer stuff thanks
Yoy more than likely can get away with using the older 302 as they haven't changed much. By law however, you only supost to swap in the same year of motor or newer into a vehicle, it's an emissions thing. With a 302 you should be able to swap on the efi and the current stuff from the 92 and be fine, the 302 didn't change much in the 80's and 90's except for more pollution equipment and obd II computer in 96 I believe.

What the low? Can you post a link to read it. As I know emission standards change every 3-5 years, not every year.......
