Where is a good place in PA or close to it,to get the new bellowed up pipes installed? I can't do it myself because of a surgery!! A freind was going to help me, but he is moving out of the area.. Any advice?? Thank you's
I would not normally recommend a dealership, but for something like the up-pipe replacement, you might want to go to a place that has done a few. It might save you time and money. With that said, Sunbury Ford has a huge medium to heavy truck shop. It is where the local dealers around me send trucks to when they cannot fix them themselves. I have been there once to pick up a part, but have not personnally had work done there. It is worth a shot to get a quote from them. Sunbury is 71 miles from you. The only other place I can think of is North East Diesel Service in Hazleton, PA. John, was at one time an owner of an IH dealership. It was a partnership that went bad. He ended up doing his own thing, and created North East Diesel Service. This is another option if you are willing to make the drive. I highly recomend him. I do not know many others becuase I do alot of my own work. The key thing is to get them to stick to thier quotes becuase it is not a lengthy job at all with the right tools. Also, if you get a private mechanic to do it, consider putting in the Bellowed up pipes from IH. It seems to be the way to go when you are doing this job. Others on here are using them.
Mapguest said alitte over 2hr. not bad at all !! It takes me 4hr. to get to my cabin in Potter PA. It would not be a problem at all to drive down there......
