Ford Keyless Entry Installation
Any info on the location of these wires.
Here is a link to the product that I ordered. The web page sayd that it is for 2003-2007. Based on the connections I made there is not any reason that it would not work on any model.

The relays shown in the figure also are not included. They are ford part number YL3Z-19G390-AA. They are about $18 each from the dealership. I saw some online for about half of that but the ones from the dealership included the plug and wiring harness and I was not sure if the ones online did or not.
The only other thing to do was to find the correct wires and tie into them. The wiring harness that came with the system is also made for a security system so there were alot of unused wires. I disconnected these from the plug so that they would not be in the way. For the keyless entry system only a few connections were necessary. These were: Power, Ground, Door Lock, Door Unlock, Horn, Parking Light, and Dome Light.
Ground is an easy one. Power must be fused. The yellow wire under the dash (not the airbag wires) is a good place to fing this. The parking light wire was tied into on the back of the fuse box. The horn wire is on a connector against the bulk head that separates the the steering column and pedals from the heater controls and the radio. The dome light and lock and unlock wires are under the plastic cover around the hood release. As the wiring diagram in the installation instructions shows the lock and unlock wires had to be cut.
I guess that is about it. Any other question feel free to ask.

But first: CONGRATS for working through the apparent maze of wires to completion!
When I bought my '05 F350 S.Duty I cheaped out and did not get the remote keylocks. Fortuneately for me my son drives tow trucks and has all the lock out tools, and knowledge to use them. Has done mine a couple of times which were free, except for a slightly red face here...
So I am about to order but I noticed a slight discrepancy between the part number on the picture you posted earlier, and the p/n on the internet Troy Ford parts site. Perhaps there is / has been a P/N update, but as long as the one you installed works, that number must be ok.
"IF" you or others has any input as to the P/N for my '05 F350 S.Duty, I are waiting, Si???
can you post a picture of the key fobs? i would like to follow your lead and put this on my truck. any idea if the door pads with the numbers would work with this system? sorry for the questions, i just dont want to put an aftermarket keyless entry on my truck. thanks.

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
just getting around to puttin in the keyless in my truck, what arrangement do you have the fuses in. i have mine in starting in the top row, empty, top, bottom, bottom, and then the only other one is the 5a in the bottom row. does this sound like the arrangement you have on your truck?
also did you just cut off all the extra wires from the harness....they are really annoying and manking a rats nest under my dash.
chris
As for the extra wires I didn't cut them off but I took them out of the connector. There is a slot that you can slide something thin into and release the wire. Cutting them off will be quicker than doing it the way I did it.
