marvels mystery oil doesnt have good lubricity properties accordingto that test done a while back, ive heard good things about seafoam but not as a lubricant. ive been using 2 stroke oil for ahwhile now and noticed the engine is a little more quite. i have recently started using B20 as its lubrication properties exceed just about anything out there, but you will lose mpgs do to the lower btu's output of VO. i had been skipping the 2 stroke permix when on the B20 BUT i thing i will continue to use it with the B20 to maybe gain the MPGs back. before B20 i used the "16 oz of 2-stroke oil to 26 gallons" ratio but it was just easier to mix 16oz in the front and 16oz in the rear tank as i buy the gallon and refill a 1 quart container for portability. but i may go back to using it no matter what i run (B20 or ULSD)...
i always add a couple of ounces of two stroke oil, a couple of ounces of lucas, and two ounces of diesel kleen per tank in my 7.3. i also add the same formula to my ford diesel backhoe and a small yanmar tractor. i have never had such smooth running engines in all my days. all my stuff is old and was not made to run low sulphur. i know it works. my 2 c
ive noticed a differnt theres a pretty steep hill by my house and i dont have to almost have to floor it to keep it at 60 seems like it does it alot better i d k bout gas milage
Have 2 diesel vehicles and 3 tractors. Been doing the 1 oz per gallon in the trucks for over 10 years on the 89 F250 and 7 on the 2000 F250 without any issues. Most of the farmers around here do the same. It does quiet the engine a bit.
Most reciently it has been attributed to saving a lot of pumps from leaking. The local co-op has an un-offical track of those who have had leakers since going to ULSD and those that do not. Interesting results that almost all of us that do not have leakers used 2 cycle oil and those that did have leakers did not use it.
Ive been using 2 stoke for the last 4 tanks. My roomate uses it as well. Both of us have noticed better MPG. I use about 1oz to 1 gal mixture. I run 2 tanks with it and then a tank of just #2. Works for me
