in a 2cycle engine. the fuel is the lubricant for the parts. for the crank and everything.
2cycle motors run REALLY hard.
They sometimes do better on wear than regular 4 stroke motors.
Now, lets take 2 stroke and put it into our fuel in a good mixture and reap the rewards.
It scored best bang for the buck in the fuel tests.
I use 1/4 qt per tank.
I mix a bit heavy but oh well.
I got ATF in there right now, which is kinda a no no, but i'd rather have lubricity than none. I'll pour in fresh motor oil if i have no 2cycle.
Problem with 2 cycle is that its sometimes hard to find a qt for 3 or 4 dollars.
they all want 6-8 dollars here in michigan.
^ Lucky. I just called fleetpride, international and 1 other local place and no one's got it.
I just sent them an E-mail asking if they have a retailer in the area
Also consider that 2 cycle oil is made to be burned in an engine, so the combustion process is cleaner.
No so with other oils that have additives that don't burn so well, which can leave deposits.
