temp. control unit problems.

i have an 05 lariat, my temp. control unit sometimes doesn't come on when truck is started. it has done it 4 times now over the last few months, unfortunately it will start working again before i can get home to troubleshoot the wires or make it to dealership, i have checked all the fuses/relays and none are blown or loose.
has anyone else out there had any problems like this with their unit?

The head unit of the Electronic Climate Control system is going bad. Take it to the dealer and let them replace it. It is covered under the 3/36k warranty.

I believe some other members have said it cost them about $500 at the dealership.

Try turning the headlights on and off when this happens. Others have reported that it will then start working. Just something to try that may save the money.

Mine does this also, only in cold weather (below 35f) and turning the headlights on after driving about two miles powers up the head. I suspect that we have a relay that is a little bit lazy and the added juice trips it. Mine has been doing this for two years now. Aside from it being a pest, I do not see it being worth $500 dollars to fix unless it finally dies.

Salesman112, Blackhat gave you a link that was "other than the dealer", and the price was much lower than the dealer.

f250stuff, i know but i was searching and in bed before he posted the link, and again i thank him for the help. i did find the part at the link for alot cheaper, but i am going to wait until it does it again and try the headlight trick. if that doesn't work i will break down and spend some of my money i was saving for upgrades.
