Howdy all. I am looking for a conversion kit for my '86 150 with the 300, 4bbl intake. I have seen a propane kit on an '86 with a 351 4bbl and would like to look into that for emissions reasons. I know that the power would be a little less but I need to get the emissions down a bit. Off road its pump gas though. If anyone knows where I can find such a kit for not soo much...or much...let me know. Just tring to gather info on the subject. Thanks in advance!
A propane conversion kit would dramtically decrease the amount of emissions your truck produces. From what I have heard there isn't much of a power loss either! Good luck.
Yeah...that is what I hear. Now i just need to find a kit. Looked on the web but I couldnt find any prices and any around here. All in Canada or across seas. BUT again..if anyone knowes of where i can find one let me know! Thnanks!
Mudinford, where are in you in Tejas? City or country? You need to check with farm supply/repair folks in rural areas for a propane kit. Anyone from tractor dealers/shops to farm co-ops to propane suppliers. If such a kit exists, they'll likely know how to get it and maybe install it for you. This is pretty common item in farm country. If that don't work, find the county Extension office in your county (generally near the courthouse) and go and talk to your county agent...the ag agent. Ask him if Texas A&M ag engineering has an expert on equipment and fuels and how to call that person...he/she may know of a supplier, too.
I don't know your location, but propane prices around here are at $2.19 a gallon, whereas unleaded is $1.63. If they dont get you one way, they get you another.
Yeah...I knew is was high...but man I just need to find a way to pass emissions...if that is posable with the propane/gas motor cuz the gas side sure aint! Im in Dallas right by DFW airport in Coppell. Thanks for the info ill get out the ole phone book and do some calling.
I'll give it a shot. Im sure they would be able to tell me...hell its money in their pocket if I get it converted! All i need to do is find a company that will give me the equipment for free if I use their propane! haha....but i dont think that will ever happen! Thanks for the info....again!
