I'm considering having my fuel injector(s) professionally cleaned, seeing how the truck's a 1990. My question is, it's a 1990 F-150 300-6 4x4... how many injectors are there and where are they located. I've fooled around with almost everything except that part of the fuel system. I figure the less I play with it, the less chance something will break or go wrong.
Yellow ? They should be gray . Youll have to remove the upper intake , fuel rail , electrical connections to the injectors & remove them from the lower intake . What exactly do you have planned ?
I think i would find someone who has a motorvac, around my area they do it for about $70.00 Ive found a big difference in mine, since having the motorvac run on it .
Just my 2 cents.
Trouble
I planned to take them to a Diesel shop my work uses and have them cleaned. I just wasn't sure how involved it was. I figured it's better than these bottles you buy at the store. I'm still checking for that motorvac, but i haven't found a place yet.
Eddie what did you have to do to install the 19#hr injectors on your truck? I am curious as I might install 19# injectors on my truck if they are not already on their. I believe the injectors on my truck are the same offwhite tan color. What parts do I need to do this conversion and was it easy to pull the injectors.
Eddie, ditto to Paul's questions, and do you have any pictures of how you mounted the adjustable fuel pressure regulator? I'm definitely looking to do this, but considering this is my daily driver I can't afford any downtime due to trial and error.
Traildawg I have a link here that discusses this project. It was given to me from StangerRanger.
