I question why go to a 6.385" rod when a 6.7 BBC rod is already at the short limit on a 4.250" stroke as far as piston side thrust? With the money spent on a stroker I would want a motor that will live a long time under street use not a dyno winner.
You bet Dave!!! I have more links to share if you need sources for main bodies and other parts as well! Let me know and I will be more then willing to share what I have found.....
I've done a couple for customers cars (chebbies--yuck!) with the TPI unit that Affordable Fuel Injection sells.... I can get all the trick fuel rails, 1000 CFM throttle body, and the aluminum bungs for the injectors to run MPFI from them... Mainly wanting a lap top programmable ECM that you don't have to have a doctorate in computers to adjust fuel and timing events.... I'm thinking a speed density system might be the best for me???? The engine is for my cruiser '66 T-Bird, main things on the build criteria are streetability, performance, and reliability...... Am I at least moving in the right direction???? Still very new at this EFI stuff!!!! Us Geezers are kind of slow learners, too!!!!!!!!

Hmmmm. The old long rod short rod controversy!!!! Tried both on are drag engines, the long rod does perform as advertised, but the shorter rods sure do make the engine live longer and look better at refresh time....This is on big block Fords, not FE's, but I suppose the wear factors are the same??????

There is a TON of info for ya to read. It will take some time to read it all. A good book to pick up is the Holley book that deals with Fuel injection (like the 4th addition) and carbs. Then you get the terms down and how it works, so you have a better understanding of it and the 3 different types.
Also Car Craft did a article this month on EFI and that has some good useful info as well. I suggest you go book shopping and start learning LOL....Trust me, You will be very knowledgeable after that!

Same to you, have some good Holiday times! Got a ton of work to do on the car itself before I'm ready for a fresh engine, so lots of time to study and save up some $$$$ for the EFI!
one thing is for sure if you go efi & you never done anything like it, you have alot of learning & work to do. i instail a meagsqurit on a ford probe 2.5l with a supercharger. it can take months to get it completly tuned, but the good news about megasquirt is all the info is for free, & everyone on there fourm is very fast to help.
my advice is if you never done any fine computer assemble then buy a finished kit, there are also some guys that will built the whole kit for you & even give you a ruff tune to get you started, but will cost more. i did it on a very small income & had alot of fun, the best thing is not many people do it so if you make it work everone will come asking you how to do soon.
i have not posted here in a verylong time, but here lately i have been missing my old 71 custum thats just setting in my father back yard for the last 12 years, i live in germany now, & am think about bring it over here to start a restore on it
