I would look around for an aluminum manifold. I just sold our Edelbrock 390 streetmaster for $100 and you might be able to find another good deal on one like it.
Wow $125 BIN price!! Dang those are $30-40 intakes at the parts yards. It's the same intake found on any 66 or later 4bbl FE Mustang GT or truck. There are both S and T intakes which are identical other than some later EGR stuff. The stock S and T 4bbl intakes compare in performance to the Edelbrock Performer other than the wieght savings of the aluminum Ebok. Nice for stock or mild engine. But no way worth $125 unless you HAVE to have the date code for a numbers resto.
By the time you're done you are getting close to the same price as an Edelbrock shipped to you from Summit with gaskets-
And you save the hernia of installing it.
Is the seller trying to imply that a 428CJ intake was a higher perf piece than some of the exotic 427 parts? werent the most HI-PO 427 items only used with 427's? could this be what NumberDummy so eloquently quotes with "all 352's and 360's become 390's on sale day" please forgive me if i didnt get his quote perfect word for word.......Bob
The CJ iron intakes have always been a bit better than stock the S and T's. That has been proven and noted in my experience as well. But yes both are heavy as he!!. LOL!!!
