Turbonetics BB info...

Did a little writing on the way to work today, coming thru the pass... all of this info is from a 4% grade... And with 37's and 3.73 gears... This is with Tonys chip on 120 setting...

OD locked out, 2500 RPM's, 68 MPH, 900 EGT's at 12#'s boost and 13#'s drive pressure...

In OD, 1700 RPM's, 68 MPH, 1200 EGT at 12#'s boost and 13#'s drive pressure... In OD it would vari from about 1000-1200 as the cruise tried to maintain speed up the pass...

OD locked out, 1900 RPM's, 54 MPH, 600 EGT at 3#'s boost and 3#'s drive pressure...

In OD, 1500 RPM's, 54 MPH, 700 EGT at about 2#'s both... Gauge not really accureate at that pressure...

So far I love this turbo, no strange noises at shifts, no surge, lights right at 1600-1700 RPM's... EGT's IIRC are about the same as the Garrett with the 1.15 housing, but without the lag. So far I have hit 40#'s on the boost gauge (maxed out, waiting on the 60# from Michael)... Sprayed a little water until the boost line to the controler popped off... Dropped the EGT's about 150 or so. Need to regear or throw a IC at her...

Nice. Do you have any of the drive pressure vs boost numbers at higher pressures?

How are you reading the drive pressure, and where have you tapped for it? Just wondering cause that has got to get very hot.

My first "generation of Drive pressure was a tap on the manifold, then a 2" section of Copper and a pressure snubber (otherwise the gauge jumps so much you cant read it) and then 2 feet of plastic to the gauge...

Now I am in the last stages of prototype testing for the new isspro line... I used 8" of 1/4 hard copper pipe, then a T, this I mounted where the factory sensor was, and then mounted the factory sender on one end and the Isspro sender on the other... Both worked great, but the snubber would get plugged with soot about once a month or so... this one has been fine for 4 months...

Sounds like you should go with 4.30 or 4.56 gears.
