Just installed white face glow gauges yesterday and am pulling things to paint white and clearcoat. I pulled the trim strips on either side of the steering wheel and on the passenger side that goes all the way across and has 'XLT' on the right side of it.
Was curious if anyone had pulled these trim strips off their door panels before? I don't want to try to pry/pop them off if they are glued on or something. I'd rather not have to take the whole panel off just to see, so thought I'd ask to see if anyone knew by chance.
One of mine has started to detach on one end and sort of bending out away from the door. From what I can see it looks like it's held on with some serious adhesive, doesn't appear to be any holes in the door for snaps or the like.
I need to figure out how to stick this thing back down.
Take door panel off they have metal tabs(like 6 -8 ) holding them on . My 93 did AT least when I put all OAK trim in. And the r on ebay all time so they do come off. Good luck
Aight.... I'll just pull the panels when I get ready to do it. And if they won't come off, I'll tape it off before layin the white down. About to paint an FZ1 white so will just do it when I spray that bike's bodywork.
Aight Aight.... when I do it I will be sure to post pics. I just put one in my gallery of the White Face / Glow Gauges I installed. I think with those whited out and cleared.... it'll be a nice touch but not TOO much. Working on a new design cabinet for two 12" subs, instead of the one I have now. May wait until I get all the interior like I want it to post.
