I disagree.

They will be in a store exchanging that gift for something else almost immediately.

$100 is about what I would pay to see THAT action. Big Dan getting bag-tagged....I'd pay another century note to watch the beating the poor slob that did it would get, too.

Thankfully, things have changed a little, but in the past $100 in my pocket was proof I had someone else's pants on.

A hundred bucks is about 5 hours after taxes.

But, for a hundred bucks, I've gotten (in the past) a return ticket to Calgary, one way to Vegas, a one way upgrade to first class, ...

$100 used to be a cheap night out at the bar way back when, now it's an expensive night out at the bar. I had to break a hundred once to fill my gas tank, just over 80 bucks.

The thing about $100 now is it doesn't get you a whole lot any more. I remember going grocery shopping with my family, and getting a shopping cart full of stuff for a family of 5 for less than $30. Now, my wife and I go once a week and can't leave without paying at least $120.
