Ok, have an update. Got the build sheet from Ford yesterday and it said it had 3.73 gears, not 4.30 like i thought. Also, drove a friends V10 today and his DOES have 4.30 gears and it had more pep! So there you have it. Getting to like the truck better. Already put on brush guard, new CD/MP3/DVD/GPS head unit in, and me and my wife just finished building a sub box for behind the seat.New door speakers going in tomorrow.
Now that you know what gearing you have, you can prepare for that when you hook-up to that tractor. Just remember to allow the RPMs to get up there, and don't forget the ratio change when you shift gears (or when the tranny shifts). Get ready for it and adjust. It ain't the truck, it's you.
Good luck and just think - you have the best bunch of guys here in the V10 forum to help you along the way. We all, at one point, had to get accustomed to the way the V10 works.
