yeah, about the peel n' seal, i've been using it for years. i actually did a semi-scientific test with it. about two years ago, i helped two of my friends install sound systems in almost identical '68 camaros. we used peel n' seal on one and dynamat extreme on the other. we didn't have a decibel reader or anything, but the three of us swore that they sounded the same.

Matt,

How does the Peel-n-seeal hold up to extreme temps. Out here in the desert interior temps can get a bit warm on a hot day. Have you had any problems with it coming loose (I'm thinking in areas like the roof or the back of the cab)?

Did you put it inside the doors as well? (I'm dreaming of actually being able to hear a radio someday)

Thanks
Bobby

i can't say i've had it in extreme temps, we don't really get those in southern california, and i've lived here all my life. however, because the back is made of a rubberized asphalt compound, i would expect it to just bond stronger in extreme heat. the rubber just might melt to the metal as the roof of the car heats up from the sun. i would worry more about the cold than the heat.

i plan to but i haven't yet. it pretty much goes everwhere dynamat would, anywhere there is a panel that you don't want to vibrate.
hope this helps

Thanks, yes, its a big help!

I'm sold, when I do my interior I plan on the peel-n-stick method as well

Matt, I checked out the local Lowe's this morning and they carry only 6" X 25' rolls of the Peel and seal. Is it avail. in larger widths from another vendor? Surprisingly, the expert employees at Lowe's had no idea.

they have other sizes availiable comercially, but you have to order it. i just used the 6X25's. it will take about 6 rolls, i figure, to do the whole cab. and at $15 a pop, that's about 90 bucks. dynamat extreme is something like $10/square foot. ouch.

Thanks for the information and the idea, Matt, That's what I like about this forum. Ford isn't the only one with a better idea.
