I was going to go out and spend some cash on a new spare tire and I was going to put one of those tire carriers in the bed of my truck(not sure the tech. term for em) and I was wondering if anyone has done this? If so could I see some pictures of how it looks? Did you buy one or build one? Thanks.
Take a look in my gallery. There is a section on the carrier. It took me a while to get the correct parts needed. However, if you improvise some of the hardware you can install it quickly as long as you have the carrier. I got my carrier at a salvage yard. Let me know if you have any questions.
I'm not sure about in the bed. Check some places that sell offroad or baja stuff. But if you meant under the bed there is a pic in my gallery as well showing it mounted with threaded rod. I got my underbed carrier on ebay.
Mil1ion, you wouldn't happen to have a picture of an actual truck with in-bed tire carrier like that would you? I was always wondering how it actually looks on the style side.
Yeah, I mounted a tire like that in another truck I had and didn't like it after a day. But it wasn't on a Ford. Never saw one mounted on a Ford like in the photo that's why I was curious. I like mine being under the bed.
Check my gallery out. There's a pic of the tire mounted in the bed like that. I hated the way it looked, and I increased my tire size, so my spare currently lies in the bed. I want to get one of those tailgates made for baja trucks with the spare mount on it, but can't quite justify the cost.

Nice truck. I don't like how tire looks in bed. Glad mine is underneath, but I'm sure after first flat it'll lay in the bed lol
