remove fill plug, then remove drain plug. let fluid drain. replace drain plug. Add fluid through fill hole until fluid level is at the bottom of the hole, then replace fill plug.
You don't "have" to remove the fill plug first. Many cosider it a good idea so you don't get it drained and discover that you can't fill it back up.
If I remember right, when I did my '92, I had to remove a balancer/vibration dampener to get at the plugs.
