not argueing with u even though ive seen many custom badges here, i have never seen any truck but mine with a maverick on it! but i think its real becuase its exactly how my gramps bought it from factory
Oh, I wasn't even trying to say that the Custom or Ranger badges were not used in your part of the world, as I really have no idea of what nameplates were available there.
Instead, I was just saying that I thought it quite possible that the Maverick nameplate could have been used, even if it was only for a very short length of time, in your location.
I have also seen regional packages that were offered back in the early 80's, some as specific as "Texas Longhorn" and "Oklahoma 89er", that each had their own nameplates. So that would mean a Maverick nameplate, on an early 80's Ford truck, doesn't surprise me one bit.
As for the Oklahoma 89er badges, I had to install a few of them, when I was working at a Ford truck dealer back in 84. They were shipped with the truck, but not attached, just in case the truck was transfered to a dealer in a different state, which is how I ended up with a pair of Texas Longhorn badges.........
