Jack

I want to replace my craftsman 3 ton jack, I want to a 3.5 ton or 4 ton jack.
What brand would you recommend?

I don't know what brand I have, but the feature I like is the foot pedal that raises the jack up to the truck without having to use the handle.

I have an old Lincoln short-frame service jack, 3ton capacity, and fully rebuildable.
Most jacks are decent for self-service use, for a higher quality one look for one that's greasable.

Check for jack rebuilders to see if they have any available that have been rebuilt.
I have three Hein Werner WS 1.5 ton jacks made in the 70's and made in the USA. The first one purchased thru a jack rebuilder back in 73, still use it all the time and it lifts the front half of the 68 CS. Two others I paid $25 at a estate sale. Hien Werner these days I believe made in China living off the old Hein Werner's name and quality, NOT!

I've had alot of success with my 3 yr old Harbor Freight jack. Especially how we tie it to the truck and drag it from truck to truck across the field. My buddy has had his for quite some time also and no problems, escept he lost the bolt for the jack handle. Uses a damn nail which is a pain in the hand.

For my vehicles I carry inside the 3 ton Husky ones from Home Depot.

For my garage floor jack I bought a (4?) ton one from Harbor Freight that has been doing okay. Lifted a Dodge 3500 diesel DRW with no problems, but, still light enough (80 pounds) to lift into my trailer for a road trip.

Makes an okay cheap tranny jack too.
