I met my wife through a life long friend. At a time that I didn't want to get involved. Because I was happy living alone dating every so often. I owned a business & had friends, along with a life. So my friend invited my to a networking program he was doing. I had put him off for weeks, he called me and finally said, drive over to my place (55miles away) & I'll buy dinner. It was at a restaurant that had just outstanding food so I did. At this meeting there she was. We sat together for dinner & talked. We left never exchanged phone #s. The next day I called her parents business and asked her mom that if her daughter wanted to go out for lunch or dinner to call me. She did, a year later we got married. That was over 10 years ago.

Haha, thanks for the advice and stories everyone.

Yeah I know, holdin on to the ex ain't exactly a great thing...there is a bit more to that than I am willing to say though.

So um, RBloodhound, good buddy good friend... Alexandria isn't THAT far away.... :P
2 hour drive...hell, first two years me and the ex where together it was an 8 hour drive...the third year a 3 hour drive, and the 4-6th years about 2 minute drive.

Best place to look is in the areas which you have an interest in. My example, same as you, going to college, I like non-fiction books, no matter what subject really. So, I go to a big bookstore, start glancing and reading, and eventually you bump into some pretty little thing that just starts talking and then flirting, through no effort of your own. Best thing is, its not the bar scene, but a bookstore. So you can automatically infer that she HAS to have brains. Plus, if she is good looking and by herself at the bookstore, you can assume a lot more and maybe even ask for her phone number.

I second the other comments which suggest when not looking, that is when women find you.

Another thing that works is just go out on dates with some random girl that means nothing to you. All the other girls get jealous and then want you for themselelves. I don't get it, but it happens. Girls that I never thought would come near me were all over me the second my girlfriends and I started going out. Don't worry, the right one will come along again. Just don't hold on to your Ex. That is last thing that a girl wants to hear about.

You need some kind of a rebound. Something to get this ex off your mind. Rebounds don't usually work out for long term situations like you want though. But just go find a hot chic man. She is out there. And she is hot dude. Go get her.

Either way, final exams are happening now, shouldn't you be studying?!?! haha.

I have two finals tomorrow and 1st is @ 8AM (Comp Sci major) ... oh crap bye.
