Hydraullic Lock?

Is is possible for a 6.9 to get hydraulic lock? I put some used injectors in my engine, hasn't ran right since. I know dumb decision, but part of the learning curve. My question is can a diesel hydraulic lock from leaking injectors? It turns over, gets slower and slower, then finally locks! Batteries are hot. I let it set overnight, then it starts. I guess the fuel is leaking past the rings, correcting the problem. Or am i barking up the wrong tree? Please help.

If it was hydraulic "locked" it would not crank...... check your starter for condition. Do you think the injectors are the problem..... or could it be a bad starter and compression buildup as you crank stopping it.

The starter is good, thats why i was wondering about hydaulic lock. It starts cranking, doesn't start right away, seems to slow while cranking like it is building fuel in the cylinder causing compression to go up and locking the engine. I think my injectors are crap, because it doesn't start right away. Started fine with the old injecdtors, except for bypass lines were leaking air into the system. I don't think the nozzles on the old injectors were leaking, just the bypass lines. I think the nozzles might be leaking on the injectors i put in. Could they leak so bad and cause a condition like this.

If it's loading up with fuel like that, I would think you would see it in the oil. Letting it sit overnight the fuel is only going go one place and that's to the pan. I would double check to make sure the batteries are strong and your connections are clean, on the starter also.

Slower and slower cranking- hot batteries- I would bet that your starter is toast- It likely has very worn brushes, lots of carbon (worn brushes) material all around the motor windings etc. This will cause excessive current draw (warm batteries) and slower cranking speeds, then as the starter gets even hotter, the winding resistance will drop, more current draw, even weaker cranking. My .02!
