Well you guys are gonna love this one. First off for some of you that might not remember, I installed a PSC power steering pump kit on my truck about 2 1/2 months ago. I'd had the pump sitting on my work bench for about year, before I found the time to install it. Well it lasted for about 2 months, before the pulley shaft sheared off inside the pump. Well I called PSC, they said that this was a common problem with these pump. It has to do with to much flow with-in the pump's. The repair is to turn down the flow and turn up the pressure. OH and of course they fully rebuilt the pump too. $60 bucks. Well I finally got my pump back on Wed-night late. Got home from work on Thursday and went to work. I put the pump on and started bleeding (Raise Wheels & Lock to Lock). 5-minutes go by,then BOOM! I step out of the truck. ATF all over the drive way. So I pull the pump with the bracket back out and remove the pump from the bracket. Immediately I find the problem. A seal protruding from the case. Well at this point I decide to take the pump apart and try to re-seat the seal within the case. I pull the case off and away from the body of the pump and once again, I see another seal protruding along with a snap-ring that appears as though it was never installed or seated properly to begin with. So at this point I call PSC again and let them know what has taken place thus far. Well they apologized for all the problems and went on to say "We already put a brand new pump in the mail to you and overnighted it too"! You'll have it tomorrow Free of charge. We are also sending you a packing slip for your old pump to be shipped back to us. Well, at this point I Thanked them and hang up. I was pretty happy that they would do this for me and I mean with no Arguement what so ever. I didn't even get a chance to ask. So I continued the removal of the old psc pump from the factory bracket. I grab my Air-Ratchet put it on the first bolt and pull the trigger. The whole assembly (bracket/pump) spins out of my hands from the TQ of the Air-Ratchet. I see it come off the work-bench, and in mid flight I remember OH Crap It's cast. So I extend my right leg out to catch the assembly with my foot. I over shoot the assembly and BAM!! Pieces of cast go flying everywhere! OH wait, it gets even better!!The Funniest part of the whole ordeal. I can't find the part (Cast Aluminum PS Bracket) anywhere! AAHHAAAA!! Now I now some of you are thinking thru-out this story. Why not just put it back to stock and leave it. Well after driving my truck with the PSC pump in it, I can't imagine driving it any other way. Honestly, the difference in the way my truck handles is 100% better than before. The light at the end of the tunnel. I found a guy here that says he can Heliarc the bracket if I don't find another one. And yeah my turck is still I do apologize for the long post. But I figured ya'll would get a good kick-out this one. POP, I know you'd been wondering what's happened. Well, here it is. HAH HAH HAH. Take Care. Country
Sounds like something that would happen to me...at least you can see the humor in the situation and not be totally angry. I think a lot of people would just be mad at this point.

HAH HAH HAH. I don't think there wasn't much else to do at this point, but laugh my butt off. Thanks Jeremy, POP, Country
WOW! You are experiencing a small portion of what I went through with my power streering ordeal. 2 AGR pumps, junk; one stock PS pump, leaked; new stock PS pump with PSC moded/ported steering box-still poor results; sent a new PSC steering box with options for running ram assist lines and running stock pump-okay results; finally was sent some valve to run off the stock pump to increase output pressure-that's the end of my sagga! I finally said the hell with it and could not waste anymore days/weeks/months trying to fix a seamingly simple item. The 7.3 has a horrible PS/hydroboost setup. I just live with not being able to turn the wheels at a stop. The results are the same whether I run my 35's or stock tires, so the tires are not the issue. I have to assume my hydroboost is the weak link as everything else in the system has been replaced/modified. I'm not interested in replacing that puppy.
Soooo, don't feel bad! If your like me you may have another month of down time and 3-4 more problems before you finally give up! LOL! good luck!

HAH HAH!! You may be right Jason. At this point I have a new PS pump on my truck right now and I'm happy with it. I'm praying it stays this way. I really like the way my truck drives with this system. I am going to convert to the Ram system sooner or later. More than likely it will be later than sooner. I do appreciate all the info you've given me in the past and continue to helo me with. Take Care Country.
I feel your pain. Went through the same thing except for the mounting bracket disaster. Hope the second pump hold's up better than first. I guess that is why they don't show it on their website anymore.
