Stacks On A Gasser?
I see someone had the same idea i did! since mine are gonna be on the 300, i'll need to stay small also, so IF i decide to go with stacks, i'm gonna run duals, 2.25" pipes up thru 4 inch stacks or so, maybe about 3/4 of the way, then use an adapter to turn it out into the stacks.. but i'll only do it if I make a nice headache rack or better yet, a full flat bed to go along with it.
Those huge stacks that go a mile above the cab and turn out of the bed, that's f'n stupid....IMO.....and I would never put stacks on anything but a tractor...non the less, here's my old mans truck which doesn't look too bad with 4 inch pipes
Im running 3" stacks on a gas burner and have not had any negative feedback, at least not to my face
. I like the way it looks and the sound pulling something is nothing short of breathtaking. and I ve got 12 forward gears to listen to. Besides before they started putting diesels in big rigs they ran gas burners. And if someone does not like my truck I don't really care as I built it to suite my taste in trucks not someone elses.

Yeah, if you're going to do stacks I have to agree with Sycostang that chromeroom is great! I had a 5 incher on my truck for a few months but finally got fed up with it because I didn't engineer it right so it came out. I've really been wanting to put one back on though cause it sounds great. Dont listen to anyone else either dude. It's your truck, have fun with it. Just make sure it looks good.

In my earlier years; 1960's-'70's, lots of guys with gas pickups had stacks & they sounded great!!
( I lived in MO , USA then) I even know of one guy who put a single stack on his 1950 - 6 cyl. pickup & it sounded o.k.
I'm still thinkin' of putting 3" stacks on my '80 F100 with a 351 Cleveland behind some small, short (10") Cherry Bomb glasspacks.
...........to Hell with what other people think mate !! Be a individual !

i have an 86 ford f150 5.0L H.O. and ive always wanted stakes on an truck so i put some on it and it sounds really good for bein a gas truck the way mine is set up is i got long tubed headers into 2.5in into 3in y'ed out into 4in by 36in flat top stacks with no mufflers nothing but pipe and it sounds good and yes i do get asked why stakes on a gas truck ill get some pics on her so u can see it.
stacks great idear
me and some of my buddies put stacks on just about anything we can think of, to name a few weve put stacks on toyotas ford diesels, ford escorts ha, and alot of f-150s, i just recently put 6 inch stacks on my 1987 f-150 and i tell you what its badass i wouldnt have it any other way. and you guys that are spending 100s of dollars to get this done to hell with that. go to your local tractor trailer supply and ask them if you can go through their bone yard. i got my stacks for 20 bucks and i hooked them up for next to nothing. the reason i put the stacks on my truck is because i like the sound and look and i drive in wheat fields alot and eliminates alot of the exhaust contact resulting in me fighting alot less fires
