Stacks On A Gasser?

I wouldnt think so, unless the internal combustion of chebie is different from ford? I ran out of gas the other day and drained bout 1 gallon of old lawnmower gas and about 4 gallons of farm diesel to get around the house and the station. But when you put too much she wont idle good and if you have the auto choke the idle will be bout 300 revs hire, but a hell of a lot of smoke.!! 500,000 miles on 1 motor, you would think it wouldnt hurt it. <<<<< WAIT YOUR TALKING BOUT EXAUST NOT SMOKE RIGHT! ***** typed all that for nothing. I wouldnt run 2.5 on a 6 unless their a single. But i have an 8 so i dont know that. It should work, as soon as i do it ill post a vid and pics!

Both and i'm using the later exhuast header 2.5" with muffler now.

Yea but look how much it cost! Also you hit a small rock and WHAM, new 208$$ chrome is all jacked up!

Check out the ebay store "Chromeroom", I got my 5"x60" stacks for $160 shipped. They have lots of options if you are looking for stacks/sidepipes.

I've heard good things about Chromeroom. Sycostang67: did you notice any loss in low end torque with your stacks? I know it's different because you have the 460.

I never noticed any change in the power level, just the volume.

Nice! That's what I want, but I don't know. I probably won't even keep this truck long enough to save up for stacks anyway.

Why, whats wrong with it? My sister used to have the same truck as you but her's was only an X-cab. I used it a couple times and fell in love with it. It had tons of power and was a blast to drive.

I'm talking about a Dakota I have for my second truck. I have truck ADD. I get a different one every year or so. I've had the f250 the longest. 14 months now. Hahaha. I have problems and am the first one to admit it.

Need Help

I just bought a 1992 f-150 4x4. I want to put some stack on it, but i am not sure what stacks I should choose.

If you want stacks for your truck do it. Don't worry if someone else doesn't like it. Thats why there are so many diffrent ways to make modifications and make it your own. If you are worried about loseing back pressure= low end torque, and still want it loud, Consider going with out a muffler, only the cats for quieting, run a 2.25" pipe up inside a set of 4" or 5" stacks. Cut the smaller pipes a bit shorter to hide them and use the bigger pipe for looks. If it is too loud you can always add the mufflers later. Just a thought.

Don't worry about what others think you want stacks go with stacks there cool. And if someone starts on you just inform them that through the 40's 50's and early 60's lots of big trucks had gasser's and stacks. And fo a stack recomendation I go with grand rock aussies on my truck which is a diesel but stacks are cool on anything none the less. (well maybe not on as escort)
