Are there any tricks or how is the easyiest way to remove the drivers side door panel ? I need to access the mirror switch and I may as well clean stuff while I'm there.. Do I need any special tools etc.. also, does it go back together the same way and do I need anything for the install ?
Thanks
Pop the power window switch panel up & reflector cover off. You should be able to pop the switch panel with your fingers. For the reflector, use a screwdriver. There are screws under those. Pull the connectors off the switches, remove the screws, then lift up on the panel -- should come right off. Rear doors are the same.
EDIT: BTW, get some plumber's grease at HD or Lowes -- it's like very thick vasoline. It works great on the power window tracks (there are three tracks in there). I did mine about 8 months ago and it made a big difference. I also sprayed some CRC silicone on the felt-looking tracks the glass slides up & down in.
I've always been a fan of pictures. After seeing that link I try and take pictures of anything I do just in case someone down the road finds it useful. I encourage everyone else to do the same.
