I can't really comment on the Pioneer because I do not have one, but if it still requires the disk to use the nav preventing you from using the DVD with out swaping disks, then I still wouldn't get it. With the eclispe, I can be using the nav at the same time my passengers are watching a movie, with the push of a button, the screen will toggle from nav to dvd.

Does the new pioneer have everything in the head unit? or does it still require a drive to be mounted under the seat?

SO DO these just plug right into the stock wiring harness? or do you have to bypass any stock amps like in the older models?

the new Pioneers come all in one unit now. You have to use the CD to pick a route and it will memorize it so you can take it out and pop in a movie.

you have to buy a harness which is about $15-$20 or make your own if you know wwhat you are doing.
