towing 32ft travel trailer
I am looking at purchasing a 32ft travel trailer and was wondering if my expy would handle it. Dry wieght is 6500#. The farthest we travel to camp is about 70 miles from home. I have a 2001 4wd,5.4 with tow package, and a upgraded heavy duty tranny cooler. Any help would be great.

I have a 2004 EB 4x4 with the 5.4L and heavy duty tow package. I tow a29' 7,000# travel trailer usually out west in the mountains and have had no problems. Other than the fact I can't see out the back window I don't even know the trailer is back there. I went to Glacier Park, Montana this summer and averaged 10.5 mpg. Watch the different state laws. In Montana if your trailer is disconnected you have to take off your portable towing mirrors or you could get a ticket. Good Luck!

I tow a 6,800# 26' Outback with an '03 5.4L Eddie Bauer. There must be a marked difference between the 16V and the 24V 5.4 because mine SUCKS when I get into any kind of hills (the 24V was new to either '04 or '05). I live in South Carolina and the Smokies are only 3 hours away. I hate dragging that trailer up there! I'm buying an Excursion soon just to solve that little problem (and NO, it won't have the 5.4L)! :-)

hey, i towed a 27TT weight 5600 dry with 5.4 2000 Expedtion 4x4 and really didn't like the ride or the way the whole package handled. hills were the pits. Traded off my mustang for an 2000 excursion V10 2x4. I never regreted getting the excursion. word of caution watch your total weight vehicle and trailer loaded with passangers in the truck and all your belonings in the trailer if you are over and get into an accident good luck.
