Adding an Intercooler - I have a question

I am in the process of installing an intercooler on my 95 duel wheel F350 CC. I already have a newer style 05 or so intercooler. I am now looking for the Y pipe.

Question - will all of the factory y pipes work on mine? or just certain yr models. Thought there might be a difference with the turbo hook up. Help me out fellers.

thanks
MW

The only Ford y-pipe that will fit for intercooler install is the early 99 y-pipe. The one that sold for $275 on ebay!!! But you do have aftermarket options. banks (the whole pipe kits is $580 (http://boyercustomtruck.com/index.as...OD&ProdID=2595), GTS (don't recommend them), build your own from the stock y-pipe on your truck ( http://photos.ford-trucks.com.com/sh...t=1&thecat=500)

Wow! $275 for that intake spyder? I thought I broke the bank when I paid $150 or so for mine. TJ is right. Banks would pry be the best way to go if you don't want to fabricate your own. I hear GTS has a good product, but it may take a month(s) or so before they will make it.

I got a quote from a Banks rep for ~$200 plus $20 shipping for just the intake spider, no pipes. I've bid on a few Ford early 99 spiders on ebay that went to $200 plus. I'm going to order from Banks when I get serious about doing it.

One sold on e-bay yesterday. I bid 150% higher than the current price was with 30 minutes left. Checked an hr later and I was outbid. WTF I did not think it was going to be much trouble finding one but ........

If anyone has one they are willing to part with, PM me

thanks

Could the newer style spider Y be modified work with the OBS?

I am evaluating my options, buy used one from the 99 which I prefer (if there is one to buy), build one from scratch, or could I buy the newer style (easier to purchase, there are more of them out there) and make a few changes (may be easier doing this than building from scratch).

To use a late 99-03 intake you will have to change over to a superduty turbo. There is no easy way to make the turbo to y-pipe connection work together unless you have a matched set. switching over to a the SD turbo you will need up-pipes, exhuast collector, turbo, pedestal, and change the downpipe flange.

In all reality here... I would probably be a better idea just to with banks or gts. I mean, if your already paying $200+ for a used intake spyder you might as well pay for a new one.

I searched in boneyards for a while and found nothing. Seems like the ones in my area don't even have PSD's. I'd love to find an IDM but every junkyard I talk to doesn't have em and don't know where I might find one. Bummer.
