I disconnected (unplugged) the EGR, which made it cold blooded and turned on the Check Engine Light. Got tired of the problems it caused, so I plugged it back in - but it is still runs like it did when it was unplugged, rough and no power till it warms up, along with blue smoke. It does not have to be very cold to do this, 45-50 degrees is cold enough. If I plug in the engine block heater then all is great. Is there something that was un-programed when I unpluged the EGR - or needs to be re-programed when I plugged it back in? Thanks for any help - Dale

Sounds like injector stiction. You might consider running some Rev-X see if that clears it up.
Thanks for the replies. No I do not have a way to pull codes. My son-in-law as told by a Ford mechanic that I should disconnect the batteries for 30 minutes, then start it up and let it idle for 45 minutes. This would re-progam the fuel and air to the correct settings?
Anyone know if this could be a fix? Thanks - Dale
NO you dont want to clear the codes untill you find out what numbers they are, then clear them to see if they come back...........
Pick up a code reader or go to NAPA I think they read 'em for free.........
Autozone (if one close to you) can check codes for free also. Advance auto can also but depends on counter guy if they want to. But hate to change thread subject...but I changed my oil other day and seems truck runs lil rougher also than before changed oil. Used rotella 15w40. Any thoughts?
