I will be replacing the water pump and/or hoses on my truck this week in light of a recent antifreeze explosion under the hood. I will assume to do the volume of fluid lost over a short period it was a hose. What should I put back in this thing? Regular antifreeze? What's the additive I need to get? And how much of it? Thanks in advance.
I went to NAPA also and picked up there NAPAKool additive and just bought the antifreexe at wally world. I think the addative was 8-9 and I also got there test kit like 30 bucks.
I'm running Zerox G-5 coolant in mine. It already has the additive in it so you don't have to worry about testing it throughout the year. There are a couple coolants available out there that already have the additive in it.
