Installed new DFA replacement fuel system

Installed the beta kit yesterday. I'm a bit sore after laying on the engine for half of a day. the kit consists of a CCK, new fuel feed lines and fittings to replace all the existing feed lines, a FASS 95 gph pump, and a filter.

with this kit you remove the fuel bowl and filter, stock fuel lines on the engine and the check valves on the feed ports. The only fuel lines reused are the return line from the engine and the supply line from the tank to near the pump.

I had the fun of grinding on my exhaust uppipe for the driver side return line because i have an early 99. i also found out how much fun it is to get to the feed port on the passenger rear. It seemed to quiet down the engine a bit, but i probably need to wait a little to let it "break in".

I took the truck to my bro-in-laws house to do the install. Unfortunatly the entire truck wouldn't fit in the garage, so we had to leave the garage door open the entire day with 30 degree weather outside. thank goodness for insulated carhartts. I posted some pics in my gallery. Didn't realize how dirty my engine was. once it gets above freezing i am going to have to clean it.

Haha, beat someone I know on that install. Think you're sore, those carharts probably did more than just keep you warm. I have such fond memories of my DIY system install. Great job and looks like a quality kit.

One question, where is your water seperator and drain now?

My Kit arrived at 6:30 PM last night, I had both my Kids in the local Christmas Parade today and the wife was working, so, I couldn't have my truck down today. Alas, we are through with the Parade, I already have the engine bay torn apart, and the front drivers side port is in ,(I already had the C-C Kit done so I am ahead of the game) wife is home now so I am goin to spend some time with her, and Chris(Rampage F-350) and I are going to knock out the rest in the morning.

Conkster.... Looks Good.

Mike, The fuel filter has a media in side that traps water. DFA has been running one on their truck now for 30K miles and all is well(talked with Jason{FN74} last night about this as I was also worried) I have an extra filter head and could get a water seperator at a later date if I feel I need it (peace of mind)

This is fun its like an erector set for big boys.

Sounds like fun to me. I am feeling a bit better myself, so tomorrow I might go out and fix something that ain't broke or fiddle with my romper before the Titans game.
