This is goood info.I'm looking at 24-26000 gross 500miles,if it pays???
I drove from middle TN. to Valparaiso In. and back. Empty trailer up and loaded coming back. The guy paid me $750 and after expenses I pocketed around $480.
4500 lbs of gravel in the bed. thats gotta count for something. dont know if i would of hauled the 6500 that its rated for in there. seems a little high for me. she was squating nicely.
I have the dump ticket to prove it 25,400 lbs total. 95 250 ext. cab long bed 2 wheel drive auto 345,000 miles. Ask the others, but I only pulled my load about 10 miles and I was schitting bricks!!!! No brake controler. Pulling the load is not bad, stopping,,,,...... Thats the impressive part. Be safe whatever you do. Expect idiots on the road. Good Luck Brother, Desy
wow, thus far i've only had at most around 5k of rock on a 16ft flatbed bumper pull. i have no clue what the trailer weighs, but probably not too much at all. my truck probably weighs around 6,000 lbs. maybe. i don't know, but now i feel bad... my truck hasn't been truely worked for the year that i've had it!!!!!! oh well, in the year that i've had it the truck has only traveled around 8-9,000 miles!!! LoL
I gross between 26-27k regulary pulling skid steer and hay. truck pulls well but can be a dog on hills if you don't shift it right. Starting at the same speed at the bottom of the hill I'll be 10-15mph faster than if dad ran it because he doesn't know how to keep in power band. RPMs are a must when pulling with these trucks
Pulled a gooseneck flatbed with a large lathe over 400 miles doing 55-60.
Lathe~14,500lbs (from dataplate), Trailer~4,000, Truck~8,500 (toolboxes, bumpers, side rails, chains, junk) for a total of ~27K. Probably a little more as I had a few extra lathe accessories which I used the forklift to take out the back. Very nice pull. No real problem stopping as I take extra time to set the trailer brakes just right.
Had trouble keeping the truck below 60 as that PSD with a 4.10 wants to go, go, go. Got 10-12mpg, IIRC but it's been a while.
