I would agree that it is not a PATS problem. The fuel pump sounds plausible. Good luck!

So here I am, thinking of replacing the fuel pump. But the thing is I have a Super Crew. I have search through the forums and found great pictures and the such but nothing regarding the SCrews. So my question is ..... Since I can't just take the bed off to replace the pump, I must have to bring the fuel tank down, the pump is directly below the back row driver side seat Thoughts?

Sorry to say that the service manual says to pull the tank to R&R the fuel pump. Good luck!

Taking the tank out isnt as hard as you might think. I took the tank out of my parts truck(30 gallon), and it wasnt very hard. Getting most of the gas out of the tank will make it much easier.

Ya well I hope so, Thanks Bobby.

Well before doing the fuel pump, does the '01 F-150 have a fuel pump regulator and if so would it be a smart thing to replace that first as it may be easier to do so.

Hope that doesn't sound to dumb.

It does have a regulator near the fuel rail i believe. As far as changing it, i dont really know, i dont think they go bad. No such thing as a dumb question.
When i took the tank out of the other truck it had like 3 gallons left in it and it was still pretty easy to take out. What i did was lay under the tank with my impact and a good light. I impacted the strap bolts out and layed the tank on my me, then i leaned up and started disconnecting things. It might make it easier to put the rear end on jack stands to make it higher. Just dont let the tank way down, you will stress too much stuff. Also while you have the tank out clean the crap out of it.

Unhappy

Hello all,

Hopefully someone has idea how to fix my problem. I have an 04 F-350 6.0 w/Banks turbo. I bought it in March of 06. Everything was fine until one day it wouldn't start, cranked, but wouldn't start. A couple days later, I tried just to see, and it started right up. A few months later, it did it again. This time it wouldn't start the next time I tried, so I changed the cam sensor. It started right up and was fine for a couple months again. When it does start, it starts all day. It's at least only done it from home. This summer I was going on a camping trip and didn't want to get stranded so I took it to the dealer to check out. They of course blamed it on the Banks system. They gave me three options: take it to Banks to check their system, unhook it and bring it back to check at the dealer, or change the cam sensor for $1,000. It's a $35 part that took me 10 minutes to change the first time. So, I took it to Banks. Their system was ok. They unhooked it. I took it back to the dealer, whom again, couldn't find anything wrong with it. My trip went fine, but on 11/2 it did it again. This was about the 8th time, and I'm really frusterated at this point. Everyone has ideas what it might be, but know one knows. I found an RV forum with one other person with the same problem on an 06. Unfortunately, he never logged back on to say what happened, whether it was fixed, or he gave up and sold it. I don't know if we have the same problem, but if anyone knows what else to do, please help...

Thanx, this is my first time, and I haven't quite figured out how to use the site. How do you start a new thread? Please advise...
