have a 04 stx 4x4 thought i would try out 4x4 before the snow comes well worked great but then edge reacted different, through a cod eof P1000, On board diagnostic systems, readiness test not complete, going in to 4x4 has this happened to anyone at all ? or shoudl i not worry, and htink it was a fluke? put truck back to 2 wheel drive, set edge back to stock program, waited few minutes went back to setting 2 cleared the code and it was fine, when it did happen truck went into lymp mode, where the little wrench light showed?? weird
I have a 2006 SCAB 4x4 with the edge. I was in mode 2 on the edge and went into 4x4 about 2 months ago and had the edge through out a code. What clued me in was the truck started running rough and would not accelerate. I was climbing a hil at the time and just got over the ridge with. I turned off the engine and rest the edge to stock mode and the truck ran great. The code was gone and I had no more troubles. I have not tried mode 2 in 4x4 since then. Hopefully it was a fluke.
I got an 06 SCAB 4x4 also. I got the edge in level 2 and take it on the beach all the time in 4x4. I have never had any code pop up from the edge and it runs great. So hopefully it was just a fluke. You could call edge and ask them though. They have great customer service.
Last weekend I had mine on level 2. I was in 4x4 high and low, very steep, slick and on and off the throttle regularly all day. I didn't have any codes come up. Edge has been extremely helpful in the past when codes have come up in different scenarios for me.
I had the same code come up after my Edge started acting funny. I had just updated it from Edge's website. Tried to return it to stock and now truck won't start. Called customer service and they said the unit wasn't fully programming the PCM and are sending me a new Edge to replace it.
So I responded to this several days ago stating that I have not had any problems after being in 4 wheel drive. I was in 4 wheel drive all day today. By the end of the day, I noticed the truck being a little sluggish. I also noticed a sulfer smell and then the check engine light came on. After being home for a couple hours, I went back out to the truck and I was going to check the code but there wasn't one. I thought I should put it back in stock. I drove it for a short while then I went back to 3. When I was in custom tunes it would not let me, It said something like vehicle does not support contact tech support. All I was trying to do was load previous setting. I will be calling support on this but I thought it was interesting after being in 4 wheel drive all day. Maybe connected or not?????
