I haven't really looked and compared the setup between the 2wd in my sig and the front end of my 93 parts Bronco....but is it possible to take the quad shock setup from the Bronco and install it on the pickup?I plan on snatching the swaybars from the Bronco as well to help her handle better...Speaking of which...any ideas on how to make a rear sway bar work with dual tanks? My sidesaddle tank seems to be in the way of one of the swaybar mounts. Thanks all
Question... Why do you want quad shocks? I have them and my ride is really rough... I think the quad shocks might have something to do with it, I'm thinking about removing 1 set from the front.
The shocks don't make it ride any rougher. If you take the one shock off, it won't make much of a difference in the ride. With a heavy load the springs in the front won't oscillate as much with quad shocks.
To answer the question, yes it's possible. The sway bars will stiffen up the ride *far* more than the quad shocks ever will though. Unless you're doing a lot of towing, I don't see what the quad shocks will really do for you. To be honest, I never understood why Ford put quad shocks on Broncos.
Yeah.. forget the quad shocks, but do grab the sway bars. I have dual tanks and a rear swaybar so I know it can work. I can't imagine driving one of these truck without swabars, it'd be like a dog humping a football... all over the place.

I love my swaybarless truck, scares the hell out of my friends when I turn real sharp. Makes the ride a bit more enjoyable until the hot coffe I have to hold between my legs (dang cupholderless Ford!!!) splashes on my leg. Then the lack of swaybars is no longer cool
Mine don't got swaybars and I thought it was pretty amazing that it didn't considering A) it's a flareside and B) it's a Mark III conversion...The reason i was interested in the quad shocks was I figured it would enhance the braking a little better.......Paul....do you think you could crawl under yours and snap a few pics for me to see how yours is set up?Or anyone else with dual tanks for that matter.Chris your truck only rides rough because you're too easy on it.....jump it a few times in the woods and yea you'll break some stuff.....but your springs might be softer...ha ha ha.Thanks for the replies so far all......
i can get you a few pics tomorrow when im at the shop with my rig. i have quad shocks and the sway bars front and rear and well. i think it is possible to put quad shocks in using the shock tower from a donor vehicle. i believe the tower is welded to the frame BUT i could be wrong. like i said ill post some pics of my setup tomorrow morning/afternoon
My '85 (see signature) has the quad shocks and swaybars front/rear (it's an Explorer package), and it actually rides like a car. I've never had a truck that rides as nice as this one.
The only reasons I drive my F-250 more often is the bigger truck is a stickshift (I hate automatics), and the 250 is EFI and starts a lot easier. I think the half-ton just needs a real good tuneup...
How easy is it to add suspension parts like this (qad shocks, sways)?? Is it just a simple bolt on with everything for accomodation already in place??
The sways are nice to decrease body lean but at the same time if one wheel gets bumped for whatever reason that force gets transmitted to the other wheel and can make a rough ride. That, and they add clutter which I don't like.
.....Paul....do you think you could crawl under yours and snap a few pics for me to see how yours is set up?Or anyone else with dual tanks for that matter.

Here's a shot I took underneath looking rearward when I did the exhaust, you can clearly see the swaybar and linkages however. I won't be taking any more pics anytime soon, we're covered in snow here now.
My truck is equipped with quad shocks/ Front/rear sway bars (I think they called this a handling package) and it has dual tanks. I think there are brackets on the frame and on the axle housing that they attach to. Might be able to get those from a donor truck.
