Spring Towers are rivited onto the frame, the rivits can be cut off and knocked out. Then replace them with GRADE 8 7/16 Bolts washers and locks. Just get everything you need, some of these parts are avail from Ford at a decent price.

I just have dual front shocks, dual tanks and used to have front and rear sway bars. I removed my sway bars and think that it rides much nicer now. Also, it is not nearly as squirrelly as people think, I do highway and off-road and think that it is an improvement. I use pro-comp shocks/springs as well, which are known to be a little stiff and rough riding.

The Rs-9000 shocks are brutal on the road shocks. They don't help at all for ride quality.

Replace those nitro shocks with hydraulic and you will be much happier with the ride.

Thanks Mike, I'll keep that in mind when these ones need to be replaced They were replaced about 3 years ago and I can't imagine they've got much more than 20-30k miles on them so I think I've still got some time on these ones...

I've been happy with Rough country's hydraulic series (the nitro's are brutal on road!) and they are relatively cheap (~$30 each)

They also have them for the correct length on lifted Ford's.

As for the quadshock debate... if you have well matched shocks in front, the ride quality is more than adequate.

The off-road performance (i.e. washboard dirt roads, sand dunes etc.) of quad-shocks vs. singles is readily apparent. Quadshock equipped trucks keep their front ends in contact with the ground with a beat up, uneven surface. This is easiest to see while in 4wd.

For everyday use and occasional 4wd use, the single works fine.

my lifted beast handles so much better with the quad shock and sway bars, its not a rough ride (other than the f250 rear springs) i am running the superfift hydralics now instead of the gas filled junks, i have had rancho, skyjackers. and the jc whintey heckthorns. i will foreever run the superflifts as i am overly happy with them.

Given the great unsprung weight of the TTB, I think front quad shocks on a Bronco would be essential. I've got 'em on mine plus I've got F&R swaybars (factory handling package) and it rides real nice.

My 2wd F150 rides rougher than my Bronco and it only has single front shocks but does have swaybars. However, it's the 2" lift springs in front that make it ride so stiff.

Sorry to answer a question with a question but, what will 2 shocks do that 1 stiffer rated one won't?

You know, I think with the proper set-up, you don't need sway bars. My '95 F150 4x4 sets up in the air more than most, and it handles great. It has some replacement springs on the back which I think are rated for an F250 cause they raise the back a lot and are super stiff. The front is riding on some factory progressive rate springs(part of the Eddie Bauer package maybe?). Its a std. cab, short bed, too. Maybe the shortness helps. It handles better than my '94 2wd, with sway bars, ever did(which was also an ext. cab, long bed). I'll be putting sway bars on it, since I have them here, just to see if it makes a difference.

BTW, Rancho nitro shocks might make a rough ride, but I've never had a smoother ride than when I put some Sky Jacker Nitro 8000's on. I put poly bushings on at the same time. My truck rides like a Cadillac. When I hit a large bump, they handle that well too.
