front hitch

I have a receiver hitch on the front of my 99 f 350 and the hole in it is to far back for any of my drop hitches has any one else had this problem with a front hitch. It was installed by the owner before me and he used it for a wench set up.

They make extensions that you can slide in.

3/4 of the way down the page:

No I've never heard of this before. Maybe take the hitch off and drill another hole. Or you could take one insert and re-drill it to fit your receiver.

I actually have the opposite problem with mine. I have a warn front hitch. If I use a normal stinger, it hits a bolt that goes through the middle of the receiver. I have to use a stuby stinger to use the front hitch. You would think that they would have standardized these hitches but they haven't. I'd look for a longer stinger. They are out there.

Maybe it was custom (homemade) for his application. Drill another hole in it.

Sure does but this is even worse!

... does it work in the back correctly? If so I would just drill another hole.

The hitches them selves are fine they work normaly in the back but not in the front and i don't want to risk messing up the hitches to make them work on the front. some one suggusted just cutting off the end of the hitch to make it slid in till the holes line up. Does that sound like a good idea, i don't want to screw up the hitch.

They make short stingers. Go buy one. They don't cost much.

I had a warn front reciever on my old truck and there was maybe 2-3 inches from the pin hole to the front. Considering the front hitch is just for moving trailers and will never be used on the road I think you will be just cutting the a bit of the end of and this should be easier than drilling a new hole.
