Hi all, first post, have spent the morning reading old threads to try and find some answers, but to no avail.
The vehicle is a 1994 E-150, 302, and the issue is a fluctuation in voltage while idling, the lights and volt gauge will ebb from dim to bright, not as fast as a blinker though. I'm wondering if this could have caused the failure of my fuel pump.
Another issue, although some of this mornings reading on this site helped, the fuel pump seems to have died.
The fuel pump relay, fuses check out, as do the voltage readings, the fuel pump connector near the tank also seemed to check out when the wife turned the ignition on/start, the meter zeroed out for a second, so I'm fairly confident the pump is gone. It seemed to die a slow death too.
Thanks.

'88 E150 for firewood hauler, til a tree crushed it, still drives though.
Took the alternator in and it was in need of replacement, so that's done, picked up a belt and the fuel pump while I was there. I wonder if I'd attended to the alternator sooner if the fuel pump would still be okay...
Will drop the tank in the am and take care of the pump.
I guess it isn't out of the realm of possibility that the voltage problems overheated the pump somehow, but I have never heard of it personally. It was probably just it's time to go to the great tank in the sky.
Glad you figured out the voltage problems.
