Question Dana 60, Differential ??

I have an 02 Off road package, Had my ball joints done recently, poking around up front, and for some reason i dont remember when i spin the u joint by hand the front driveshaft turning also?

Is the front drive shaft always linked to the drivers side ujoint, and in turn always spinning? How does the passenger side engage when in 4x4?

Limited Slip? Thinking out loud, sorry. Any Help

I believe you have to spin the drive shaft for a little while before the passenger side axle will start spinning

The front driveshaft is always connected to both the left and right u-joints. When you spin the u-joint on one side, either the driveshaft or the other u-joint or both will spin.

The locking function for 4WD engagement is accomplished inside of the hubs.
