i was looking under the front of my truck yesterday and noticed there was only about an inch of clearance between the leaf spring of the the front axle and the bumb stop just wondering if all the trucks were like this or is mine just worn out? i'm wanting to do a lift kit any way but the cheapest one i can find is from sky jacker for $1600 and it comes with all new springs no blocks

I think that the inch of clearence is a little low, but I think most of us without lift kits will find that we dont have much either. Maybe a inch and half. The front end sure needs strenghtening even stock I think.
If you have a 250 that's pretty close to the way they are stock. if you have a 350 its low. There isn't much travel in the front of these trucks but either way it could be as easy as an add a leaf leveling kit. But new springs are always the best option.
Go skyjacker! get the 6 inch and dont look back! all spring of course. ride quality is incredible compared to stock. and then you can do this.........
try that with the stock suspension and see what happens.......lol gurantee it wont have all 4 flat on the ground. and that is in 2wd at that

gotta give ya credit coon that rig is flexin' hard, I am amazed at the twist your bed is in, my jeep could do that and the body would move very little, all spring movement, my 350 would just cringe and turn away, kudos to sky-jacker they make the best lifts in my opinion, nice ride, with nice articulation
