I was wondering how many versions of the PCM there are.
Or could you post up what code our pcm is.
And is any one better than the rest?
There's more PCM codes than you can shake a stick at! My early 99 came with an XLE4, and I think Jody upgraded that to an XLE8, but I'd have to look on the sticker he put on my spare PCM that he re-flashed to be sure.
Maybe everyone will post there codes here, and we'll have a list.
I'm curious to how many there are. And what the changes are, mostly what internal changes have been made.
There were slight changes to the PCM starting in 2002. Off the top of my head I know the tach signal input was changed and a couple of other minor differences. Other than that, most of the PCM code changes are minor tweeks in shifting, fueling, engine management, etc. My truck was originally a VDH5, and Jody now has it flashed as a VDH2. I've also had my DP-Tuner chip programmed with PMT1 shifting for the VDHx PCM's, but I wasn't a fan of the early T/C lockup while towing my quad trailer up steep forest service trails. So now everything is set for VDH2 programming and it's all gravey.
