Fire Fire Fire!!!!!
well yesterday around 8pm coming from work my brake light came up on my dash i pulled out the emergency brake handle thinking it might latched but no it wasnt that so i kept driving i smelled burned rubber/wire so i stopped got off no dome lights/ windows wouldnt go down/up couldnt put truck in drive nothing worked could turn it on but not drive it...anyways so checked the FUSES there was one blown out changed it then again stepped on brake blow it out i had no idea what was happeining or why next thing i know i saw SMOKE LOTS from vents but it was coming from hood bay check under and right around the tire driver side i see fire enlightened open up hood brake cylinder on fire all wires connected around there fire SCARY TO SEE MY RIDE ON FIRE LUCKILY SOME HELP CAME BY WITH WATER AND ALL I COULD THINK WAS FIRE OUT DUMPED WATER ON THERE ALL I SAW WAS THE BRAKE RESERVIOR COMPLETELY MELTED ONLY HALF THERE HANGING & BUNCH OF WIRES MELTED .....SAD LONG BORING STORY LIKED TO SHARE IT.....
WHAT TO DO NOW, DONT KNOW WHAT THIS (F......S...) IS GOING TO
COST ME??

Have you been in a cave and haven't heard about the safety recall for that issue????
You've got an '01, it should have been in the first or second round of recalls from a year or two ago.
SEARCH keywords "cruise recall" for many threads.

hey thanks for the reply well out of CAVE now it happens i just got my ride about 6month ago & wasnt aware of any recalls now you (PROJECTSHO89)being the know it all what can be done in my case i took the damn thing back to FORD and there telling they might cover damages i say they should since its there damn fault they cant get the right things in place period!!!
can anybody tell me what has to be done, any others had this problem & how to solve it!!!!
