Steering Column
I was wanting to know which year of truck i could use for steering column. I have a 72 with P/S but no steering column. Also how do i tell which make of P/S i have? I read some where if you had 3 bolts it was this type and if you had 4 bolts it was another type. I will get the numbers off this week end as i'm stripping the frame. Any help would be a help.

The top of the gear box will have 4 bolts holding on the cover plate if it's a Bendix.
If Bendix which is very few, The manual steering column will work.
A saganal you need a 73-77 PS column. I think in 78 the started putting the key on the column.
There is only like 2" difference in length.
I know someone else will have something to add. Beside correcting my spelling .....

Thanks for the picture. I got these numbers off the plate with two bolts C8AR then below them are the theses 3580-A2 it looks like. It says Ford on the plate also. On the side it has C7AR.3A58TA D1TR-3550-BA

i just put one of these in my 71. i went with a ididit colum. figured tilt would be nice and it bolts up to the factory box really easy. if you need a pump let me know, i had to use a newer one to get the serp belt to work.
