I need to purchase a steering column for my 66 f100. i have upgraded to p/s an auto trans and installed a 460. would like to have a tilt column. gear box is out of a 79 f250. the column in the donor truck was wrecked. any help would be appreciated and i would like to keep the money in the family if you know what i mean. thanks again!
Not an authority, believe many of the components on 65-66 steering column are same, or simular to the 67-72 column. Came across an article " how to install tilt steering wheel" in the 67-72 Ford truck forum, Fordification.com. The wire color codes likely will be different however some of the info may find helpful.
thanks for the info. bough a 79 2wd tilt auto column online for $100. guys says the tilt mech is solid. it uses the same lever for the blinkers and tilt. now i just gotta figure out the wiring. mods wont be difficult if the length needs changed. any body know if the wiring is the same for the blinkers and horn? thank you all for your input!
A friend has a 66 F100 4X4 PICKUP.. HAS A BAD STEERING BOX (MANUAL) LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO SWAP IN/ ORIGIONAL ETC./ APPARENTLY THE 4X4 IS DIFFERENT FROM THE 2 WHEEL DRIVE..
