Is it a '67 truck? They all have tranny coolers(thru the radiator), but the '67 had a seperate cooler that picked up coolant out of the bottom of the engine block(instead of radiator). My '67 had this contraption, and it hinders installation of headers because it takes up all the room around the bottom of the engine.
The tubing is probably rotted thru?, or the adapter on the bottom radiator hose is rusted thru? Lots of places that could leak, have to find out exact spot.
If you want to get rid of all that mess, buy a separate tranny cooler(that you can stick in front of radiator) and hook it up to lines on tranny. You can buy these at any parts store pretty reasonably priced. Unhook all the lines on motor and plug the block(I think it's 3/8" npt?)using a brass pipe plugs.
When I put a stick shift in my truck, I removed all that stuff, no problems. Just have buy new lower radiator hose and refill when done.
Do your wallet a favor and get a good used / rebuildable C6 to replace that FMX box in the future for your 67 truck as iron cased tail housing companion flanged C6 trannies are getting hard to get. C6 parts are available and a lot cheaper to rebuild than the iron cased FMX. One of our members with a 67 spent over $1,300 on a FMX rebuild and it still isn't right.
I would recommend adding a trans cooler inside bottom radiator tank like 68 onward auto trucks have to warm up the tranny faster preventing rust and condensation problems that running a remote only cooler will cause if your doing a lot of short trips. Better yet I would run a remote cooler AFTER THE RADIATOR COOLER then return back to the tranny.

FMX? Don't think so...it's a MX Cruise-O-Matic. FMX's introduced midyear 1968 in cars only.
No FMX's in trucks till 1973, and then only on 73/79 F350's with a 300 I-6.
MX COM's were once called the "big Cruise-O" the FX version was called the "small Cruise-O."

Bill, Don't know what or why you call em like you do, but we call them FMXs. We understand the lingo. Maybe that is why it is so darn hard to get parts sometimes.

John
Y'all might call 'em that...but this is the only place I ever heard of MX Cruise-o's refered to as FMX's.
I call the transmission by what Ford Motor Company sez it is, and it ain't a FMX.
Waltz into my Ford parts dept and tell me you need a tranny pan gasket for an FMX, you'll get this: B5AZ-7A191-B.
You'll be back soon in a p!ssed off mood, with the pan in one hand, and the ruined gasket in another...yelling "you sold me the wrong part!"
Uh huh, yeah right...and when the truth comes out, you really needed this: B5SZ-7A191-A.

Yes Bill it was my mistake in calling the predecessor to the C6 a FMX box, myself and others been calling them that so long it became our offical name of it. Not too many shops rebuilding them these days as it reflects on the rebuild cost and available parts vs a C6 that has many upgrades to already one of the strongest boxes around. Oh Gawd where did all the "Flash-O-Matics Rambler used go I now need a AMX fix?

Do you know the way to Redwood City?
Rambler: Flash-O-Matic / Studebaker: Flight-O-Matic (two versions) = Borg Warner (similar to Ford-O-Matic). Studebaker used the early 2 speed version on some, the 3 speed version on Avanti/Hawk/Lark with the Jet Thrust engine (R-1 & R-2).
Located in Redwood City is the largest Studebaker parts/service garage in the US. Owned by the Thoms Brothers. Waltz on down there for the parts you need.
Studebakers West, I looked up their phone number 1-650-366-8787. Now you can call 'em up and save yourself the drive across the Bay Bridge.
Tell me the parts you need, I can look up the Studie part numbers, I have those parts catalogs too.
Huh?
Before I was a Ford partsman, I was a Studebaker/Packard partsman.

Bill you must have a computer room packed with parts books floor to ceiling.
I'm going to have to call you the Parts Fetish Number, almost sounds kinky doesn't it?

No computer room. The laptop, microfiche viewer, printer, scanner, and other assorted crappola are on the kitchen table.
Most of the Ford parts books are scattered around the floor, next to the chair.
Neither my wife or I have eaten a meal on this table since last November.
Down the hall in a spare bedroom is my auto history ref books. Last count, over 2,000. Now that IS a fetish.
When we bought this Wikiup, I was elated: 3,000 sq ft.
Didn't last..the mice have become round shouldered because of all the junk I've accumulated over the past 40 years.

I feel better now Bill, I thought I was the only one that has "little piles of useless stuff and notes" the wife calls it thru out the house.
The garage is off limits as well my special years and months of posters.
I must get ready to go to the outlaws house.
Have a great Thanksgiving.
