Engine Stands?

I need an engine stand for the 300... I'll be taking it out and rebuilding. I've seen some on the web but the prices and weight ratings vary a lot. What do you suggest for a good price?

IMO, the 1500lb (heaviest) from Northern Tool, or some comparable outfit. They're under $100. The engine is fairly heavy and long. The length is what is going to "pull" on the stand's upright, so it's better to have more strength, and the two wide legs for stability. again, just my opinion.

Just make sure to read carefully the specs for the stand, some stands can handle a V8, but not a inline six due to the length.

One other thing to think about is the type of bolts you use to attach the motor to the stand. It is best if you use a grade 8 type bolt that can handle the stress.

i am using a 750 pound stand from autozone only cause advance was sold out.

i have a 750 pound stand i welded it together and added some gussets holds 300 nice and doesnt bounce to much
